Before joining the faculty of Grace College, I taught at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I also have teaching experience at the University of Iowa (Iowa City, IA) and Kirkwood Community College (Cedar Rapids, IA). I completed my PhD from the University of Iowa in 2007 under the direction of T. Dwight Bozeman, an authority on Puritanism and American religious history. My dissertation examines the relationship between evangelicals and Moravians during the first Great Awakening:
